Thomas and Friends – Exploring the Rails is the latest exhibit at the Children’s Museum in Gatineau. This exhibit allows your child to enter into the world of Sodor and experience a bunch of Thomas the Tank Engine fun!
Running until May 1st, 2016 it’s a must for any Thomas fan.
This past weekend we and what seemed like a million other families braved the cold to have a great Thomas experience.
The museum was busy but they made sure the place wasn’t too crowded. We had to lineup for Thomas exhibit itself as they were limiting the amount of people so the kids could go in and play. They had a giant table of Thomas track for kids to build onto and play with wooden engines. A large Thomas engine which little ones could climb onto and be a Railroad Engineer, which was adorable. A large scale Percy where kids could fix his wobbly wheels and fill him with coal, plus ticket booths and much more.
The exhibit is free with the cost of your entrance into the museum. Entrance into the museum allows you to visit both the Museum of History and the Children’s Museum. Adult admission is $15, $9 for children and free for children in 3! An adult and child under 3 could easily spend the whole day at the museum for $15.
The Children’s Museum is a definite must if you’ve got young kids. The place is full of new places to discover with different vehicles to drive. It sparks imagination in all ages and is a wonderland for little kids. My little guy loves sitting on the bus and driving the Tuck Tuck. You can easily spend the whole day there, bring a lunch and enjoy.
I would highly recommend visiting the Explore the Rails exhibit while it’s still here. Make sure you check your local library and see if you can get a free museum pass and have a great day exploring 2 museums!
