Wow it’s already that time of year again, time for the Great Glebe Garage Sale.
If your a bargain hunter a quick trip around the Glebe this Saturday May 23rd is a must. It’s worth it to get there early to avoid the crowds especially if you have a baby in tow. There really isn’t any room on the sidewalk for a stroller if your out past 11. Plus its usually super hot and humid.
I must admit I haven’t found any great deals in the last few years but hopefully I can find a reasonably priced tricycle for my little guy.
If it’s your first time make sure you bring cash, lining up at one of the two ATMs in the Glebe will make a fun day into a long day. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, I have yet to experience a GGGS that wasn’t hot and be mindful of cars. It would be much easier if there weren’t cars flying by while your trying to navigate the deals but it’s a neighbourhood and people have to drive.
The last few years corporate sponsors have come out in full force, lots of businesses selling their wares and lots of charities out for donations. It changes the mood of the event but the further off of Bank Street the more local sales are happening.
One last note if your looking for a washroom visit any of the local churches for relief. Not only do they have washrooms for you to use they usually offer a rest area for you to take a break and many have Charity barbecues setup.
So if your looking for something fun to do this Saturday morning visit the Great Glebe Garage Sale. Happy hunting.
