This Saturday November 19th at 11am is the Help Santa Toy Parade in Ottawa. I love a parade and this is one that shouldn’t be missed and the definite highlight is seeing Santa!
The route has changed over the years, this year starting at the National Archives, traveling Wellington to Bank Street, turning onto Laurier and finishing at City Hall. This parade is organized by the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters Association to raise money and collect toys for less fortunate children in the Ottawa-Carleton area. You can bring new unwrapped toys to the parade and cash donations they will be collected by local Fire Fighters throughout the parade route.
We attend this parade every year and it is usually on a really cold day so be sure to dress warm. The parade route is long so make sure you stake out your spot early and get comfortable. A bonus is the route is littered with Tim Hortons so you are never too far from a hot chocolate to warm you up. This is a parade that can’t be missed you seeing Santa is the highlight but for me the feeling of holiday cheer from the crowd and the parade participants is the best. Make sure you come out for the Help Santa Toy Parade November 19, 2016 at 11am.
