Mayor’s Christmas Party this Saturday

This Saturday December 3rd at 2pm is the Mayor’s 16th Annual Christmas Party, a free event you don’t want to miss. It seems like Mayor Jim Watson’s events get better and better and I don’t doubt this years Christmas party will be pretty special.

At last years event we feasted on Beavertails and Hot Chocolate, there were fire pits with families roasting marshmallows and even wagon rides around City Hall. This year looks to be much the same and being the Mayor’s Christmas Party it’s probably going to be a pretty special event.

The rink of dreams will be open so you can ice skate and last year there were some amazing figure skaters giving everyone a show. Inside City Hall is Santa & Mrs. Claus and lots of neat events, I must admit we don’t go inside because the lineup are incredible and my 2 year old is not very patient. If you can handle the long lines there are movies, live performances and crafts inside.

Like many of the Mayor’s events donations will be collected for the Ottawa Food Bank. OC Transpo is also offering free bus rides on all routes to and from City Hall from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for kids under 11 with a paying parent which is awesome.

Unlike the Halloween party that had endless lineups the Christmas Party usually has lots going on that doesn’t require too much waiting. Here’s a link to more information.
